New Rector for St James’

The Rt Rev Dr Nicholas Bundock, Bishop of the United Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev Kirsty Massey as Rector of St James the Less, Bishopbriggs. Details of her institution will be announced in due time.

Kirsty says,

“I am very much looking forward to joining the congregation at St James the Less, as we work out together how God is calling us to share his love with the community of Bishopbriggs. Paul and I will be very sad to leave all the wonderful people in Anston, Firbeck, Letwell and Woodsetts, whilst for me it will mean coming home, for him living north of the border will be a whole new experience. It was good to meet several members of the Vestry in July, and we look forward to getting to know the whole church family soon.”

Bishop Nick says,

“I am delighted that the Rev Kirsty Massey has accepted the call to become the next Rector of St James the Less, Bishopbriggs. Kirsty comes to us from the Diocese of Sheffield, where she is currently Priest in Charge and Oversight Minister. Before ordination, she spent many years in primary education, and brings considerable experience of teaching, pastoral care and encouraging others to discover and use their gifts. Kirsty has worshipped and ministered across a broad range of church traditions and brings a collaborative approach to leadership, together with a real commitment to community engagement, schools and ecumenical partnership. I am looking forward to welcoming Kirsty and her husband Paul to the Diocese, and to seeing this new chapter begin at St James the Less.”

Please pray for Kirsty and Paul, and the communities of Anston, Firbeck, Letwell, Woodsetts, and Bishopbriggs.
